Who We Are

Meet the MurRubber Team

Anthony Murru

President / CEO

Expand Bio
Anthony J. Murru calls it a wonderful hobby, but the skillful, amateur bird photographs he has taken and displays in his office reveal he is passionate about everything he commits to. Especially when it comes to family, community, conservation and the flourishing MurRubber Technologies.

In April 2016, he acquired Bedell-Kraus Flexographic and Pharmaceutical Rubber, Inc. Anthony and his new management team immediately set out to retain the best attributes of this successful company and nurture it further with the goal of growing it into a World-Class Rubber “Technology” Company.

Our new name and brand reflects our core belief that we demand the best in rubber technology solutions for each client from the very beginning of each customer relationship.

He is ISO 9000 series certified, addressing various aspects of quality management standards to achieve improved efficiency and effectiveness of company operations. This includes identifing the most effective ways to demonstrate ongoing commitment to safety, reliability and quality.

His background includes several years as president / chief executive officer of a private equity holding company. Anthony was also President & CEO for Loveman Steel Company for over eight years.

The fact of the matter is this: I love creating solutions. And the collision of digital technology, this dedicated work force here, and innovative ideas are my inspiration. We strive to be the very best for our customers every day.

TONY KINDLER

President – Engineered Products

Expand Bio
Tony Kindler has a kindred spirit to “Scotty” from Star Trek. He is an engineer, a scientist, a teacher and…an innovator. Not only does he solve complex material applications utilizing state-of-the-art materials and processes, he’s one of the pioneers of what is now known as podcasting.

Many of our customers find Tony to be their go-to person for questions that can’t be solved or understood. His second master’s degree has an emphasis in research and development. Tony has been involved in the polymer science field and rubber industry for over 30 years.

His corporate oversight and leadership includes implementing a successful I.S.O. 9001/2015 Quality Control System.

You will have access to Tony 24/7 – and that’s a good thing. His experience includes working with all phases of product engineering such as reverse engineering of existing composite materials and developing product requirements per industrial standard testing. This includes Mil-Spec, Automotive, Food Grade, Electrical, Chemical, Astar, material selection and the processes required.

I have two passions in life: first and foremost, my 5 children and 10 grandchildren. Next is my work. Doing the right things up front to minimize or eliminate failure. Research and development is what I love. I want things to last and customers to be satisfied.

His show is on ArtistsFirst Radio, an internet radio hub he helped create now with 4 million listeners from every nation on earth. They call him Tony Kay. We call him Scotty.

TOM ROWND

Vice President – Sales

Expand Bio
Tom Rownd has run in the Boston Marathon almost as long as he’s been a key figure in industrial sales. After more than 20 years in the steel industry and Marathon races, he joined the management team in 2016 upon Anthony Murru’s acquisition of the company.

He is now vice president of Sales for MurRubber and brings a high level of service, discipline and expertise to his customers.

Tom has a life-long love for industrial sales and…animals. He’s been in the business since 1984. In 1999 he established a 5K Run as a fundraiser for the Ohio County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to honor his faithful companion, Auggie – a beautiful black cat.

With a Master of Public Administration, Tom also held a seven-year employment with the city of Wheeling, West Virginia, as the deputy director of development.

He is a people person, highly interactive with customer service and enjoys the challenge of determining and seizing opportunities to help people and companies meet their goals.

Tom enjoys working out, reading, and listening to music – oh, and running a little.

Monica Smith’s favorite personal activities include camping, hiking and fishing. Especially when she catches more fish than her husband. She’s a real go-getter at the office, too!

She is active with customers in several ways – responsible for customer service, order entry, order confirmation, billing and purchasing of mixed rubber compounds.

Her career began here in 1997 when Monica started in the lab, testing rubber products. Then, in 2001 she began working with Tony Kindler, President Engineered Products, running the Engineered Products Division. Her training has been on the job, through years of hands-on experience and mentorship.

As the ISO 9001:2015 team leader, Monica is responsible for implementing our quality policy throughout all aspects of our business. This includes control of all documents and performing regular audits with our audit team.

Bottom line for me: I really enjoy meeting new customers and industry people – developing long-lasting business relationships. Over the years, I have met and continue to work with many wonderful people. I also have to say the atmosphere of our workplace is wonderful. Everyone works together. It’s a great team, like a family!

Amy Brncik-Fetterman

Expand Bio
Amy Brncik-Fetterman grew up inspired to be an artist. But when she went away to attend The University of Akron for Commercial Art, she began to expand her horizons with an interest in management as well. She is perfect for our rubber stamp division.

Starting here on April 16, 2001, she worked in the rubber lab for 12 1/2 years along with doing office duties under several mentors.

Then in October 2013, Amy moved up to customer service and managing the rubber stamp division.

I especially enjoy the relationships I have developed with my customers through the years. I am excited about the new ones coming on board as MurRubber continues to expand our expertise and reach in the rubber-based industry. And I love spending time with my office personnel here at work and away from work – they are my extended family. The office space is a calm and laid back atmosphere.

As a customer rep, auditor and document controller, she handles order taking, billing out invoices, maintaining receivables, problem solving with customer issues, purchasing products, and managing the rubber stamp division.

I love to be outside in nice, warm weather (preferably beachside) entertaining family and friends. I find absolute enjoyment in groups filled with laughter!

By the way, she did graduate with a Commercial Art degree.

Pamela Foore

Expand Bio
Pamela Foore spoils our customers and crew behind the scenes. She comes by it honestly, though. She also pampers her family and pets, especially her dogs.

In September 1991, she started as office manager. Now with close to 30 years in the rubber industry, her duties include A/P, A/R, PR and HR, all Administrative Office responsibilities. Pamela’s employee Matrix Duties encompass keeping track of employee’s duties and responsibilities in addition to accounting services.

I am really excited with our new ownership, vision and incredible company growth over the last two years. My favorite thing about my job is accounting. I love crunching numbers.

Although, I like the flexibility of my job, too – working in several different areas. Most of all, I feel blessed working with an excellent crew of co-workers.

She has a business degree as well as office administration and computer training.

In her spare time, Pam enjoys sewing, walking and exercise. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and taking one-tank trips as well as vacation travels. Her pets and dogs? Yep, just right out spoiled.
